I Am a Mask
I Am A Mask
I am a mask
With many secrets behind it
But it’s only what I let you know
You see my mask
And not the person inside
I keep to myself
Two faces
One unseen
Locked away in the cage of my heart
The face I hide
Where my secrets hold
Half of me known
And the other is forever hidden
Inside my mask
it is my sanctuary
Here I am most one
And my other half behind it
I cover my face
Eternally I stay half known half hidden
For I am a mask
I am a mask
With many secrets behind it
But it’s only what I let you know
You see my mask
And not the person inside
I keep to myself
Two faces
One unseen
Locked away in the cage of my heart
The face I hide
Where my secrets hold
Half of me known
And the other is forever hidden
Inside my mask
it is my sanctuary
Here I am most one
And my other half behind it
I cover my face
Eternally I stay half known half hidden
For I am a mask
New Year's Poetry Theme
New Year, New Beginning
What are your new goals, dreams, or aspirations? What do you hope for?
GOAL: Write a poem that communicates your New Year’s Resolution. How will you make your year better? How have you matured so far this year?
What’s your resolution?
Try harder? Be nicer? Listen to your parents? Try to do better in school? Pay attention to pets? Save money for the year? Share something with family or friends? Learn a hobby? Eat healthier?
The Writers Club is looking for poems from everyone! We want you to try your best to achieve your goals this year. Let us know your goals in a poem!
